Mountain tour starts from the Bad Valley and ends with the highest peak in Romania
Bad Valley (romanian: Valea Rea) is a valley situated in Fagaras mountains (Southern Carpathians); from here you can get to the highest mountain peak in Romania – the Moldoveanu peak.
It’s one of the most direct routes to Moldoveanu peak, although its extremely difficult (hence the Bad Valley name).
The Bad Valley waterfall (cascada Valea Rea)
Bad Valley cave – one of the biggest caves in Romania and the richest in minerals. The cave spreads over 21 km and has the greatest vertical underground waterfall of Romania (the Ventilator Fall): 82 meters high. It was discovered in 1986 and it took nearly 10 years to fully explore it, as it’s one of the most complex caves in the world. It’s closed to the public and it is a scientific ground.
