Batca Doamnei lake is located in Piatra Neamt city (Moldavia region). Remains of a Dacian citadel – named Petrodava, dated 2nd century BC – can be found on the hills of Batca Doamnei lake. The fortress was destroyed by the Romans after their conquer of Dacia in order to avoid any possible invasion on the borders of the Roman Empire.
The local Batca Doamnei museum showcases the rich history of the place, holding artifacts as old as 6000 years from the neolithic Cucuteni culture.
