Nicolae Romanescu park, located in the city of Craiova. With a surface of over 90 hectares(220 acres), its one of the biggest parks in Romania.
The park was first designed as a garden in 1842 on the estate of the Bibescu family. It was severely damaged during the 1848 revolution, after which it was bought by the local administration. In 1899, the park was built at the initiative of mayor Nicolae Romanescu, .
